OnePlus Reportedly Plans Turbo 6X Lineup

OnePlus is preparing a new Turbo 6X smartphone series that could give buyers a choice between LCD and OLED displays, according to a report Friday by Gizmochina, citing Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station.

The report said the standard OnePlus Turbo 6X will use a 144Hz LCD panel, while a Pro version will move to a sharper 1.5K OLED screen. No launch date, pricing or additional specifications were disclosed, and OnePlus has not announced the devices.

The difference in displays suggests OnePlus may be planning a two-tier strategy for the lineup. The LCD-equipped model would likely sit at a lower price point, while the OLED version could be aimed at buyers seeking a more premium screen, better contrast and higher perceived image quality.

The Turbo line has been used by OnePlus to emphasize performance and battery life at aggressive prices, particularly in China. The X suffix would be new for the series, making it unclear whether the phones are intended as successors, side models or a fresh subrange within the company’s performance-focused portfolio.

Display choice points to wider price spread

The reported specifications would place the Turbo 6X below traditional flagship territory, particularly because the base model is expected to rely on LCD technology. OLED panels are now common in premium phones, while LCD screens are typically used to keep costs down or appeal to users who prefer the technology for eye-comfort reasons.

The rumored devices would follow the OnePlus Turbo 6 series, which launched earlier this year. The Turbo 6 featured Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a 1.5K 165Hz display, a 9,000mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC charging, according to Gizmochina. OnePlus also introduced the Turbo 6V with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, a 144Hz display and the same 9,000mAh battery capacity.

Those earlier models indicate OnePlus may continue emphasizing high-refresh displays and unusually large batteries in the Turbo 6X range. The approach reflects a broader push among Chinese smartphone makers to distinguish midrange devices with gaming-oriented screens, fast charging and battery capacities that exceed many mainstream global models.

The company has used such features to appeal to mobile gamers and heavy users who want long battery life without paying flagship prices. For now, the reported Turbo 6X remains an unconfirmed product. More details are expected from regulatory filings, benchmark listings or company teasers if OnePlus moves closer to a launch.
