Redmi K90 Ultra Leak Reveals Snapdragon Chip, Fan Cooling and Huge Battery for Gaming Flagship

Redmi K90 Ultra leak points to gaming-focused flagship

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand appears to be preparing a performance-focused smartphone that could bring gaming-style hardware deeper into its mainstream lineup, according to leaked details published Monday by Mix Vale.

The report says the expected Redmi K90 Ultra is being developed with a Snapdragon-series processor, an advanced air-cooling system with a built-in fan and a large battery, features that would position the phone for gaming, video editing and other demanding mobile tasks. The information was attributed to Digital Chat Station, a widely followed technology tipster on China’s Weibo platform.

Xiaomi has not announced the Redmi K90 Ultra, and the reported specifications have not been confirmed by the company. The device is expected to arrive first in China, where Redmi often debuts its high-performance K-series models before any related versions appear in other markets.

The most notable part of the leak is the cooling system. Most smartphones rely on passive heat management, including vapor chambers, graphite sheets and internal thermal layers. A fan-based system would mark a more aggressive approach, aimed at keeping processor performance steady during long gaming sessions or sustained workloads. That would put the Redmi K90 Ultra closer to dedicated gaming phones, a category led by brands such as RedMagic and Asus ROG.

The report also points to a Snapdragon 8E+ platform, though the exact chip name remains unclear. Earlier leaks surrounding the K90 Ultra had suggested a MediaTek Dimensity chip, making the latest report a shift in expectations. The uncertainty underscores how early hardware leaks can change as manufacturers test different configurations before release.

Battery, China launch and competitive stakes

A large battery is also expected to be one of the phone’s central selling points. Recent reports about the K90 Ultra have suggested capacities around 8,000 mAh or higher, far above the 5,000 mAh cells common in many flagship Android phones. A larger battery would support the device’s gaming pitch, especially if paired with high refresh-rate display technology and active cooling.

For Redmi, the K90 Ultra would continue a strategy of using its K-series phones to push premium specifications at prices below many global flagships. The line has historically appealed to consumers who want strong processors, bright displays and fast charging without paying the highest prices associated with Xiaomi’s top-tier numbered flagships.

The phone could also signal a broader trend in Android hardware. As mobile chips become more powerful and artificial intelligence processing moves increasingly onto devices, manufacturers are facing greater pressure to manage heat. Active cooling, once a niche gaming feature, may become more common if companies decide that sustained performance is as important as short benchmark scores.

Still, several key details remain unknown, including the final processor, display specifications, camera hardware, charging speed, software version, launch date and pricing. It is also unclear whether the device would be sold outside China under the Redmi name or adapted for global markets under another Xiaomi subbrand, as Xiaomi has done with some past models.

Until Xiaomi confirms the device, the Redmi K90 Ultra should be treated as an unannounced product shaped by leaks rather than official specifications. But if the latest details prove accurate, the phone would be one of Redmi’s clearest attempts yet to challenge dedicated gaming phones while keeping the broader appeal of a mainstream flagship.
